Bio: Serene Allison & Pearl Barrett are sisters who share the passion of healthy mothering. They both have large boisterous families and love to experiment in the kitchen on ways to best nourish their families and stay slim and healthy in the process. Serene & Pearl were recording artists with a major Christian recording label. For many years they traveled extensively but eventually relinquished their touring careers for the more thrilling one of embracing home with children, dinners, dishes, and diapers. They have never looked back.

    I was just wondering… we tried the fat stripping frappa, and the consistency was kinda icy, creamy, not necessarily smooth fluff, is this how it’s supposed to be? Thanks for your help!

      Hi Susan, yes it supposed to be icy. To make it more smooth, don’t use as much ice and instead use 1/4 to 1/2 cup more unsweetened almond milk. Some like icy, some like smooth. I like it smoother myself but Serene likes hers icy.

    Hello Sisters,
    Enjoying your book immensely. My neice called me and said she had a book for me to read if it wouldn’t offend me. I have lost over 1oolbs but this last 30lbs wasn’t going anywhere. She said she just hated to think of my starving myself. The book is great! I have implemented your plan and broken through the seemingly never-ending plateau!!! My neice lent me her copy before she read it all and I have yet to get it back to her. Needless to say, I was NOT offended. Now I am sharing your information with all the not-so trim and healthy mamas I know. It has been such an encouragement to me. My daughter is on plan with me and for her 19th birthday has changed her request for carrot cake to your special occasion cake. We are curious about the polar bear soft serve you spoke of as a compliment to this cake. What is polar bear soft serve? Thank you again for all your hard work and research.

      Hi Lisa,
      That’s fantastic news that you are loving the book and finally broke through the plateau. And thank you for sharing the good news with others. That Polar bear ice cream was the way we used to make Tummy Tucking Ice Cream before we started using unsweetened almond milk. We made it with light coconut milk, so it was very white looking. You can always try it like that for a heavier S version sometime. BTW, we are reprinting the book soon to fix some mistakes. That Special Occasion Cake requires 1/2 cup cocoa powder and that ingredient is missing in the book
